2N255 Projects

Most early transistors had power ratings at or below 0.3 watts -- often much below.  When power transistors became available, they had frequency responses sufficient for DC through low VLF and low current gains.  But they did provide power gain and could switch loads into multiple amp ranges.  Those properties suited them to many applications were small-signal transistors did not fit.  The 2N255 is one of a number of early power transistors.  Some examples follow.
